The city of Biloxi knows how to celebrate winter holidays in style. Biloxi is a beautiful holiday destination and features mild weather, stunning vistas, and fabulous entertainment. One of the most anticipated events of the year is the annual Biloxi Christmas Boat Parade.
Biloxi hosts a holiday family weekend with many festivities for all to enjoy. Every year, the first weekend in December is devoted to celebrating the winter holidays.
The Christmas on the Water weekend kicks off with a Friday evening Children's Parade. Next, families can enjoy the festive Lighting of the Town Green. On Saturday, it’s time to enjoy the Christmas in the City Festival, followed by the spectacular Christmas on the Water Boat Parade. The boat parade ends with a fabulous fireworks display.
The Christmas on the Water Boat Parade is Biloxi's favorite way to celebrate the holiday season. The event began in 1986 with a small lighted boat parade and has grown every year.
While snow-laden and land-locked cities might enjoy a land-based parade, Biloxi takes advantage of its mild winter weather and gorgeous waterfront setting with a memorable boat parade.
The parade features beautifully decorated boats. Boats often have themes, such as Margaritaville or Snoopy's Christmas. In addition, boats play festive holiday music and invite watchers to dance and sing with holiday tunes. The parade starts at 6:00 pm just south of the Biloxi Lighthouse and heads east before ending at Point Cadet.
After the parade, guests will enjoy a spectacular fireworks display and end the festive weekend with a bang.
If you want to go all out and enjoy the boat parade in style, join a cruise and be a part of the parade. Guests on parade boats can enjoy being on the water, dancing to festive music, and watching the other parade boats.
While watching the boat parade from land is fun, being a part of the boat parade is even more delightful. Guests can book tickets to cruise on The Captain Pete.
This large motor vessel will be festively decorated, and guests will enjoy watching the other parade boats from the water. The cruise features onboard entertainment and music. Hors d'oeuvres are provided, and a cash bar is available.
Joining the Captain Pete for the boat parade is sure to be a memorable event and a highlight of the holiday season.
Join a classic Biloxi Schooner and enjoy the cruise of a lifetime. The Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum decorates its two schooners and invites guests to experience the Christmas on the Water Boat Parade from the water.
The schooners are faithful replicas of classic Biloxi oyster schooners and reminiscent of times.
The festively decorated schooners will feature Christmas music. Coolers and ice are available, and guests are welcome to bring food and refreshments.
Watching the parade from land is another excellent option. Guests can watch the boat parade between the Biloxi Lighthouse and Beau Rivage Resort & Casino. Another good site to line up and enjoy the festivities is between the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor and Casino Row.
Families often bring camp chairs or blankets, hot chocolate and enjoy the evening together. Don't miss watching the fireworks over Deer Island.
The Mississippi Gulf Coast features endless entertainment and family-friendly activities. Check out Long Beach, Mississippi, things to do and enjoy the season.
