Are you looking for a great event with local food and fantastic music? The 28th annual Crawfish Music Festival is returning to the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi from April 14th to 18th, 2021. If you're in town for it, add the festival to a tour of the best Gulfport brewery options. With a fantastic crawfish cook-off competition, headline country music, and a fun festival atmosphere, the entire family will love the Crawfish Festival.

CRAWFISH MUSIC FESTIVAL 2021‍

People enjoying a musical festival outdoor

For more than twenty years, the Mississippi Coast Coliseum has hosted the annual Crawfish Music Festival, and 2021 will be no exception. The festival sprawls across the outdoor grounds at the Coliseum, with music playing on the outdoor stage as cool breezes blow off of Mississippi Sound.

Headline acts for the 28th annual Crawfish Music Festival 2021 include Riley Green, HARDY, and Blackberry Smoke. Other acts include the Tall Boys, The Chitlins, Chris Flowers & Louisiana Express, Kameron Marlowe, and After Midnight. You'll also see Frank Foster, Niko Moon, Trey Lewis, and Jon Langston. Artists are subject to change, especially this year, with the pandemic changing many plans. But the show will go on!

Here's the breakdown of the acts for each day of the festival. Remember, schedules might change before the day of the show.

  1. Friday, April 16th, 2021--Riley Green and Frank Foster
  2. Saturday, April 17th, 2021--HARDY, Niko Moon, and Trey Lewis
  3. Sunday, April 18th, 2021--Blackberry Smoke and Jon Langston

The 2020 festival was postponed, and organizers had hoped to reschedule it later in the year. But the COVID-19 pandemic kept that from happening, so this April marks the festival's return after an entire two-year hiatus.

It wouldn't be the Crawfish Music Festival without crawfish! Biloxi's Quality Poultry and Seafood will be serving steamed crawfish with new potatoes and corn, plus lots of other goodies. The food village will have pretty much every option imaginable!

The highlight event is the crawfish cook-off, which will take place on Saturday. The entry fee is $50 to compete for Best Crawfish Boiler or People's Choice. Cash prizes and trophies are up for grabs, with the top prize being $1,200!

In addition to great music and tasty food, the festival spreads into the area around the Coliseum with midway carnival rides that will delight the entire family. Rides are not included in the show ticket, but you can purchase a pay-one-price rides ticket for a wristband.

Unlike years past, only limited and reserved seating is available for the concert. You must purchase tickets in "pods" of either two or four tickets. The Coliseum’s website may announce more COVID-19 safe measures before the show, so check there for the latest.

CONCLUSION‍

With beautiful April weather and great views of the Gulf from the Coliseum, the Crawfish Festival is always a ton of fun. Grab tickets soon, especially since seating is limited, and plan your spring trip to Gulfport and Biloxi, knowing that it's going to rock a little more this year!
