The restored 1915 schoolhouse offers kids a wide range of ways to explore, discover, learn, and have fun. They can expend energy by climbing, either indoors or out. Aspiring professionals can learn what it takes to be a vet, train engineer, or port captain.
The Super Colossal Climbing Structure allows kids and adults to climb from floor to floor.
The first floor hosts many great rooms where interactive exhibits inspire kids. Art Knows Anything Goes is the center's art room. Kids can take part in a themed art project and take home their handmade souvenirs.
Bear Camp Bayou is perfect for kids four and younger. Here, they can play with puppets, build with blocks, or relax.

For out-of-this-world fun, visit the Celebrate the World We Share: Sun, Earth, Universe exhibit. Kids can delve into all aspects of a NASA mission, from spacecraft design to launch.
At History Hotel, kids can run a 19th-century hotel. At It's a Matter of Science, kids can use interactive activities to learn about science. They can fill their carts with groceries at To Market, To Market. At WLMDC-TV, kids can be the stars of their own TV shows.
If the weather is fine, kids will love the outdoor exhibits. Large oak trees shade the seven-and-a-half-acre outdoor area. Set up camp in an actual log cabin at Bear Creek. Kids can stroll down Kids Street, a pint-sized subdivision. On the Green overlooks the Gulf of Mexico. Kids can look out at Mississippi's barrier islands from Ship Island Lookout. Young meteorologists will love checking out the weather station, while musicians and composers will love creating unique music with chimes in the outdoor music garden. Tree House Village is a crowd favorite, with plenty of treehouses to explore.
StoryWalk® features two different books a month. Kids can walk the StoryWalk® path and read a book, a page at a time, as they walk. The books are chosen to showcase coastal Mississippi culture and heritage.
If you stay in one of the hotels near Lynn Meadows Discovery Center around the last Friday of the month, admission is free from 5 PM - 8 PM.
Special events include cooking classes and WINGS special theater productions.
